I originally contacted Hesseys Happy Hounds for their house sitting services to house sit my rescue Great Dane X and Newfoundland X having been recommended by a friend. Their process was explained and very quickly organised a meet with Jess to go through and questions we may have as this is our first time leaving the dogs with anyone other than family and I was nervous to say the least! Jess instantly put our minds at ease. I asked if the dogs could have a walk once a week to ensure that everyone was happy which was organised immediately with a handy online dashboard for all of the pets details including anything else like watering my plants! The Great Dane is very nervous of new people and any unfamiliar situations so I was sceptical that she would enjoy being walked by someone unknown. Now on a Tuesday afternoon when Jess knocks on the door for their walk the whole street knows how excited both dogs are to see her! Jess not only walks the girls but also helps to build confidence and learn new skills during this time with the help of her own dog, Bob. Both dogs come home beaming and shattered! When it's hot, walks are shaded and so they don't miss out on outside time and as an owner this is communicated efficiently so I know that their safety is at the forefront of their walks. To continue to improve the Great Danes confidence we have also joined the Naughty Steps class for a weekly session with other dogs and owners in similar situations to help overcome challenges together. The classes are so welcoming and helpful that we have seen a huge improvement in confidence within the past few months of the classes that I wish I'd found them sooner! Every single member of the Hesseys Happy Hounds team is an absolute credit to the company and I have already recommended all my dog owning friends in the area. Thank you guys, you are the best!
